The Nightmare Before Christmas is a fun theme for a Halloween party, especially for Disney and Tim Burton fans. If you feel the characters from the movie are too limited, you could always expand the concept and encourage your guests to come as their favorite Disney character. Invite your guests to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter character, and use ideas from the books for decorating, such as a sorting hat, stuffed owl, etc. You can watch the movie or just have it as background. If your teens are into crafts, set up a project for them. Be creative!

For toddlers, simple games adapted from traditional birthday parties work well, such as pin the nose on the pumpkin, pass the pumpkin, coloring activity, and decorating cookies, cupcakes or mini pumpkins. This is a great way to open the party, and as people arrive they can get started right away. Those who are arrive early have more time
for decorating. Hold a contest for funniest, scariest etc. Set up your space in advance; select a table and cover it in newspapers or a

out for inspiration. Be sure to have enough pumpkins for each participant. For a teen or adult group, your entire party can be focused
on this single event. Buy the pumpkins early and enjoy them for decoration until the party.
